At this point in time, the late-stage capitalist model is pervasive and all-encompassing. Although tempting to tweak the existing system, a more practical solution is a complete reconfiguration. Xenofeminism is a branch of feminist thought that rejects naturalism and seeks to abolish gender and the oppression that accompanies it through a posthumanist use of technology. “It is not enough to think about routing around barriers; in order to ensure maximal emancipatory gains, we must facilitate the creation of new systems.” 1 Repurposing and purposefully misusing existing systems can be used to survive that system prior to revolution. Repurposing only works in the temporary because it will always be tasked with reacting to and circumnavigating the system it is opposing instead of building something that will fit the actual needs of the people. Xenofeminism and Posthumanism seek new alternatives to the current social, environmental, and structural problems that humanity has manufactured and perpetuates.
